Exodus 14

And יהוה spake unto Moses (Mosheh), saying,

“Speak unto the children of Yisrael, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baalzephon; before it shall you encamp by the sea.

For Pharaoh (Paroh) will say of the children of Yisrael, ‘They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.’

And I will harden Pharaoh (Paroh)’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honored upon Pharaoh (Paroh), and upon all his host, that the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) may know that I am יהוה.” And they did so.

And it was told the king of Egypt (Mitsrayim) that the people fled; and the heart of Pharaoh (Paroh) and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Yisrael go from serving us?”

And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him.

And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt (Mitsrayim), and captains over every one of them.

And יהוה hardened the heart of Pharaoh (Paroh) king of Egypt (Mitsrayim), and he pursued after the children of Yisrael; and the children of Yisrael went out with a high hand (boldly).

But the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh (Paroh), and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon.

And when Pharaoh (Paroh) drew near, the children of Yisrael lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) marched after them; and they were sore afraid; and the children of Yisrael cried out unto יהוה.

And they said unto Moses (Mosheh), “Because there were no graves in Egypt (Mitsrayim), have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore have you dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt (Mitsrayim)?

Is not this the word that we did tell you in Egypt (Mitsrayim), saying, ‘Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians (Mitsrayim)?’ For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians (Mitsrayim), than that we should die in the wilderness.”

And Moses (Mosheh) said unto the people, “Fear you not, stand still, and see the salvation of יהוה, which He will shew to you today; for the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more forever.”

יהוה shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

And יהוה said unto Moses (Mosheh), “Wherefore criest you unto Me? Speak unto the children of Yisrael, that they go forward;

But lift you up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Yisrael shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians (Mitsrayim), and they shall follow them; and I will get My honor upon Pharaoh (Paroh), and upon all his army, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

And the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) shall know that I am יהוה, when I have gotten My honor upon Pharaoh (Paroh), upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.”

And the angel of God (Elohim), who went before the camp of Yisrael, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them.

And it came between the camp of the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) and the camp of Yisrael; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these, so that the one came not near the other all the night.

And Moses (Mosheh) stretched out his hand over the sea; and יהוה caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

And the children of Yisrael went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

And the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh (Paroh)’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

And it came to pass, that in the morning watch, יהוה looked unto the army of the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the army of the Egyptians (Mitsrayim),

And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily; so that the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) said, “Let us flee from the face of Yisrael; for יהוה fighteth for them against the Egyptians (Mitsrayim).”

And יהוה said unto Moses (Mosheh), “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians (Mitsrayim), upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.”

And Moses (Mosheh) stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) fled against it; and יהוה overthrew the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) in the midst of the sea.

And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh (Paroh) that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

But the children of Yisrael walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

Thus יהוה saved Yisrael that day out of the hand of the Egyptians (Mitsrayim); and Yisrael saw the Egyptians (Mitsrayim) dead upon the sea shore.

And Yisrael saw that great work which יהוה did upon the Egyptians (Mitsrayim); and the people feared יהוה, and believed יהוה, and His servant Moses (Mosheh).
